The first concert Sarah Etelman ever attended was a Dolly Parton concert. And she still stands by Dolly’s life philosophy: “If you want to see the rainbow, you’ve gotta put up with the rain.” Sarah loves to read (latest book: Fun Home), ice skate (her favorite sport to watch) and do crafts (especially making felt and stained glass creations). The place she’d most like to visit is Alaska, which makes sense considering her most over-used word: “cool!” What’s the naughtiest thing she did as a child? Climb on the counter and take down a full bag of sugar to eat. But this same child grew up to be an elected official—sweet! Sarah, you see, is a member of the South Hadley Selectboard.
