Girls Inc. kicks off annual fundraiser

SPRINGFIELD - Girls Incorporated of Holyoke held their annual kick-off breakfast fundraiser at the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall Fame in Springfield on Thursday, April 16, which celebrated the “Sprit of Girls.”
 
More than 500 people attended the yearly event at Center Court in the hall. Girls Inc., founded in 1981, serves about 1,200 girls and provides a nurturing environment for members to excel academically, to express themselves with confidence, and to prepare for college, life, and, most importantly, to be leaders.
 
The organization’s motto: “Inspiring all girls to be strong, smart, and bold,” was clearly on display as current and past members spoke about the clubs importance in their lives. The girls, in partnership with Bay Path College of Longmeadow, also premiered a film about the organization.
